Today, Tuesday (5/22) at 11:00 a.m. the Georgia Sea Turtle Center (GSTC) released a rehabilitated juvenile green turtle named Ed near the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve’s (GTM NERR) southern office in Marineland. Ed has been selected by GSTC and GTM NERR as a good candidate for one of the reserve's satellite transmitters. The transmitter has been attached and Ed has been swimming and transmitting test signals for about a week. The release was successful and this will boast the second of GTM NERR's rehabilitation and release partnerships on juvenile green turtles with Dori being the first last year. If you would like to keep track on Ed or Dori's travels, click on the links provided on their names!
